We love all things about cargo containers at CargoContainerBroker.com, especially inspiring stories about how people think outside of the box to use a container. When I came across this story on YouTube, I knew I had to share it.
The story highlights two architects (Brian Stark and Wesley James) in Phoenix, Arizona who used 16 cargo containers to build an 8 room apartment complex. They self financed this project and it was the first of its kind in the Western United States.
When you view the video you will see how amazing these 740 square feet apartments look. The apartments are equipped with plumbing and measure up to all building codes. The steel apartments also offer a unique way to keep the rooms cool in the penetrating Phoenix sun, as steel releases heat a lot faster than wood or stucco.
Being constructed out of steel you can imagine that the structure is incredibly strong. The containers provide a waterproof structure and an almost impenetrable enclosure. By using a cargo container you are also purchasing the enclosure and structure in one, which in high priced real estate markets can prove advantageous to an investor. The structure was built based on international building code and offers residents a unique vibe to lay their head.
We hope you love this story as much as we do! The video is roughly fourteen and a half minutes and was published by Kirsten Dirksen.
