I found a nice video that provides a time lapse of a cargo container build. I labeled this build as a hybrid cargo container home as the builder used three 8x20 One Trip cargo containers, mixed in with a traditional home build up.
The video was published on YouTube by Scott Owen and as I read through his comments the home is expected to cost less than 30k. Which for a new home, which is custom made, seems like a steal.
Since he used One Trip cargo containers, I would also be willing to say that the home will most likely last for a significant amount of time (I would guess the one trip containers could last up to 100+ years).
What I really liked about the video is it shows you how they laid the cargo containers on a steel frame for the foundation which I liked as it will keep the cargo containers off the ground. They also built up a pitched roof which added a really cool flavor to the home and three glass doors on the side where they only set one cargo container which would really open up this home.
I really love the mixture of both cargo container building and traditional building and think you will like this video. The video runs about five minutes, but it is worth the watch.
