If you are looking into building your own cargo container home (tiny home) or building, you will need a foundation for the containers to sit on. The foundation is key as it will allow the cargo containers to remain level and sit off of the soil.
I found this video on YouTube by Andrew Camarata that documents the procedures that you will go through in building your container slab. The video is nearly eleven and a half minutes long, but is a good representation of what tools, equipment and labor you would need to set your own foundation.
I summarized the steps below, but have the video for your viewing. Enjoy and I hope this video helps!
Quick Summary of how to pour your cargo container home slab:
1)Pick a spot high up to prevent water/rust issues
2)Clear and level a spot
3)Put down a layer of ¾ inch gravel
4)Dig and install conduits for electric, cable, water and septic (even if you do not think you will need them, they can save you time, energy and effort if later on you decide that you do).
5)Install anchor barrier, rebar and form boards
6)Pour your concrete, set wall, or container anchors
7) Level the concrete
8)Remove form boards
9)Fill sides of slab with gravel or dirt
